Vester & Associates, Inc. has an immediate opportunity for a talented Civil Site Design & Land Development CADD Specialist to provide production and software support for the Civil Engineering and Land Surveying staff. Overview of Responsibilities: • Prepare civil site design, construction plan, land development, topographic survey, as-built certification, survey location report, and land surveying plat drawings from sketches or from general engineering and design information using Autocad Civil 3D, Land Desktop & Civil Design Companions, and Autocad 2007. • Perform calculations with specific instructions. Knowledge of basic geometric relationships is a necessity. • Prepare drawings, tables, reports, and transmittal letters for project submissions. • Manage CADD coordination issues and mentor less experienced staff. • Assure and actively participate in quality control and or quality assurance in accordance with company guidelines. • Continually assess and revise the manner in which assignments are accomplished to meet and/or exceed standards, improve productivity and quality and meet or exceed clients’ needs. • Perform day to day support and troubleshooting of all CADD systems. • Manage CADD software licenses and vendor relations. • Assist in the development and promulgation of CADD standards including CADD software customization, Visual Basic macro enhancement, and Autolisp routine modification. • Coordinate and communicate with CADD end user community to update, encourage, and employ established standards and techniques to increase productivity and resolve software related issues. Qualifications Required: The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in a CADD related curriculum with interest or experience in computer drafting work related to civil engineering site design and land development. Candidates with an Associate’s degree in a CADD related curriculum and related experience will also be considered. The successful candidate will have an understanding of construction detailing and technical aspects of land development. Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Land Development Desktop is preferred. The successful candidate will be an assistant project manager who will work under the direct supervision of a surveyor or engineer and be responsible for client contact and coordination, scheduling and organization of surveying projects, coordination with survey crews, and assist in the supervision of surveying projects. Surveying projects would include ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking, construction as-builts, residential and commercial subdivision platting and design, new home site plans and staking, and surveyor location reports. A Bachelor of Science in Land Surveying or dual degree combined with Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering is preferred or an associates degree in the area of surveying and engineering. The optimum candidate will be able to work efficiently with minimal supervision. This position requires good communication skills with the public and governmental agencies. The candidate will need some experience in AutoCAD, Excel, and Word. Experience with Autodesk Land Development and Civil 3D.
